Advice

It may happen that, as an employer, you need advice because of a certain situation or about an idea that you want to give hands and feet to. Getting advice from an external expert can then be interesting. About Education provides advice on matters related to training, coaching, professional development, personal development and internationalization. A few examples to make it clear:

Suppose, you have a team of people who have different cultural backgrounds and where cooperation and communication are not going well. There is a lack of understanding, there is a different opinion about punctuality, there is no real team spirit and people do not seem to understand each other well. You also wonder whether people understand the work they have to do. None of this has a positive effect on the results the team has to deliver and on the working atmosphere. At About Eduction we find such a situation interesting and a challenge to work with.

Or, you are responsible for internationalization in (secondary) vocational education and you have difficulties to get this off the ground properly? Maybe is it going well with internationalization at your educational institution, but is what has been learned during an internship or European cooperation hardly used in the education that is given every day? About Education can clarify the core of these situations and develop the best solution to get internationalization sustainable in your organization.

Maybe you are working on educational projects for a developing country, youth employment or Training of Trainers. Secondary (vocational) education in Africa is not comparable to education in the Netherlands. The quality of education is often low. Teachers' skills are generally limited. Collaboration with the private sector and practical internships are often lacking or difficult to achieve. We know from experience how this can be tackled: what works, what doesn't work and what is wishful thinking.

Development

Developing training and coaching (also online!) is fun. Especially when it has to be tailor-made. Especially when it has to be tailor-made. To develop modules, training materials and mentor / coaching guides, we use an approach based on competence-based teaching, blended learning and the philosophy of Stephen R. Covey. This combination is interesting and a success for (online) training and (online) coaching.

Training and coaching are two different things, but both are used for the development of a person or a team. During a training someone learns the knowledge & skills that are necessary for work and learns how to apply knowledge & skills. Every training therefore has a clear outcome in mind. Coaching teaches someone about themselves and how to get the best out of themselves based on a development plan. In practice, training is often seen as something that is functional and yields something. Coaching is still often seen as a process in which there is a lot of talking, but of which it is not clear what it will yield and how long it will take. In addition to training & coaching, we can also help you develop a coaching-on-the-job approach that best suits your organization.
